FAQS
What is Microblading?
Microblading is considered a semi- permanent tattoo. Different from traditional permanent makeup that uses a machine where is pigment is placed into the deepest layer of the skin, Microblading only inserts pigment into the top layer of the skin. This creates the ability for a natural fade out with your natural skin cell turnover. On average it lasts anywhere from 12-18 months. There are many factors that can contribute to fading- skin type, sun exposure, use of chemical exfoliants, etc.. Most clients prefer to have a yearly touch up, or color boost, done to freshen the color intensity of the brows. Some clients require a 3rd session, that will be charged, for best retention. *Consumption of caffeine, alcohol, ibuprofen, blood thinners of any kind, etc 72 hours prior to service can greatly affect the retention of pigment causing faster fade out.

Does Microblading Hurt?
This is usually the most asked question! The sound of tiny needles on your skin is a bit frightening, but don't fear, I use two types of numbing creams. I use a topical 5% lidocaine cream prior to beginning the service.. most clients feel very little discomfort when we begin. Once I have started on the brows, I apply a second 5% lidocaine gel with epinephrine that sinks into the open skin numbing and blocking the blood flow. There is very minimal discomfort and blood. Some clients have been on the verge of falling asleep, so I would say thats a pain-free numbing win! * Pain does vary from client to client- if you are currently on your menstrual cycle, expect more sensitivity.
