FAQS
What is Microblading?
Microblading is another form of Permanent Makeup. Often referred to as 3D Brows, Feather Stroke Brows, Brow Embroidery. With the use of tiny micro needles, dipped in quality grade pigment, I am able to create natural looking hair strokes resembling natural looking hair.
How Long Can I Expect My Microblading Services to Last?
Microblading is considered a semi- permanent tattoo. Different from traditional permanent makeup that uses a machine where is pigment is placed into the deepest layer of the skin, Microblading only inserts pigment into the top layer of the skin. This creates the ability for a natural fade out with your natural skin cell turnover. On average it lasts anywhere from 12-18 months. There are many factors that can contribute to fading- skin type, sun exposure, use of chemical exfoliants, etc.. Most clients prefer to have a yearly touch up, or color boost, done to freshen the color intensity of the brows. Some clients require a 3rd session, that will be charged, for best retention. *Consumption of caffeine, alcohol, ibuprofen, blood thinners of any kind, etc 72 hours prior to service can greatly affect the retention of pigment causing faster fade out.
Does Microblading Hurt?
This is usually the most asked question! The sound of tiny needles on your skin is a bit frightening, but don't fear, I use two types of numbing creams. I use a topical 5% lidocaine cream prior to beginning the service.. most clients feel very little discomfort when we begin. Once I have started on the brows, I apply a second 5% lidocaine gel with epinephrine that sinks into the open skin numbing and blocking the blood flow. There is very minimal discomfort and blood. Some clients have been on the verge of falling asleep, so I would say thats a pain-free numbing win! * Pain does vary from client to client- if you are currently on your menstrual cycle, expect more sensitivity.

What Can I Expect During My Appointment?
Please plan on 2 hours. When you first arrive we will go over your medical history and your consult form. We will talk about your goals for your brows and take our before photos. I will begin by cleansing your brows, and then will begin "mapping out" the best shape for your face. This tends to be the longest part of our service, as it is the most important! A good map gives us great results. After we agree upon our final mapping, I will apply your topical numbing cream and you will continue to numb for 20 mins. Once you are numb, I will begin the microblading! The final reveal is my favorite part! We will take your after photos, go over aftercare and you will be set to go!
What Can I Expect After My Appointment?
The healing process on average takes 12-14 days. Older skin tends to need more healing time. You will leave your appointment feeling a bit tender, and maybe swollen around the brow area as your numbing wears off. During the first few hours your skin will go into "panic mode" as we just created tiny little traumas. The bodies natural response is to push out the foreign pigment, and by doing so it will create a lymphatic liquid buildup. It is important to blot away the ooze off to help the skin to breathe. Every 30 mins use a clean tissue to gently pat and absorb the oozing. I will provide aftercare products to use during the healing process. The first product is a bottle of Ink Soap I have diluted with distilled water. You will wash your brows morning and evening by using your fingers to (1) rinse the area, (2) wash with the soap, (3) rinse with water, and finally (4) pat dry. I will also provide a healing balm, use to keep the skin hydrated and protected. You will apply a rice grain amount to each side of the q-tip and apply three (3) times a day. It's important to keep the brows hydrated and happy, as drying can create scabbing. Thin layers. If you start to scab, DO NOT PICK AT IT!!!! If you start to itch, DO NOT SCRATCH IT!!! Refrain! You will need to avoid submerging your brows in water- showers, swimming, saunas, excess sweating, etc. You will also need to avoid extreme sun exposure - plan vacations accordingly! Your brows will darken the first few days, days 3-5 the strokes could potentially "fall out" and disappear, and days 6-7 they should resurface to the top and show up again! The touchup session will be done 8-10 weeks after initial session and is mandatory. We will go through and touchup the strokes that faded, and we can always add and adjust the color as well.
